SKY KNEW HER TRUTH WAS UGLY, but she was determined to reveal everything, leaving no stone unturned. Nothing else was hanging over her head about her troubled past. She didnât want to chance anyone else telling Sincere before she could, as Jewelz did. She finally accepted it only made things worse.
âSky, you were with me by then. How could you sleep with another man for money when all you had to do was ask me? You know I wouldâve given it to you off top; no if and ands about it. Why didnât you come to me?â
More tears fell as Sky realized her past indiscretions hurt Sincere in ways sheâd never considered. âIâm sorry, babe. I really am. I thought Iâd take care of it without involving you. It was my mess. I thought I could clean it up.â
âNo! You thought you could fuck your way out. Thatâs what you thought!â Sincere roared, no longer holding back as he paced the floor, huffing and puffing. He wanted the truth but never considered Skyâs betrayal went beyond Jewelz, the man she fled to New York with.
Sincere realized at that moment that Sky was a serial liar, whether on the road to truth or not. In a way, he appreciated the truth from the woman he fell head-over-hills in love with, but resented Skyâs reality hurt him in ways he didnât know how to fix. Upon meeting Sky, there was a gut feeling she may have hidden details of her life. But Sincere never imagined he, too, would become a part of her cockups.
Sky quietly sat as Sincere paced the bedroom floor. His uneasiness bothered her. âSo, you mad at me now! You asked, and I told you! Thatâs the number one reason I never wanted to tell you, Sin. I knew you would judge me just like everyone else.â She raised and stood.
Sincere walked closer to the bed and gawked at Sky. âI couldâve helped you if you trusted and respected me as your man, but you didnât. Youâre so used to being used and abused. You didnât recognize when you had a real one. I wouldâve helped you, Sky. Simple as that, just as I have since day one. No woman of mine would have ever had to go to another man for anything.â
âSin, I was so scared of losing you. I didnât know what to do. I convinced myself youâd leave if you knew everything Iâd done.â
âFuck!â Sincereâs lips tightened as creases emerged on his forehead. His anger and feelings when Jewelz outed Sky in the subway returned. He didnât know what to do. Sincere believed that if he knew everything, heâd finally forgive her, and they could move on. Still, once again, the gene of betrayal was consistent, becoming the only emotion Sincere trusted.
There was no doubt in his mind and heart that Sky had indeed crossed the line, and he wasnât sure if he could forgive her without resenting himself. Sincere wanted to, he did, but pride and a bleeding heart wouldnât let him.
