SKY KNEW HER TRUTH WAS UGLY, but she was determined to reveal everything, leaving no stone unturned. Nothing else was hanging over her head about her troubled past. She didn’t want to chance anyone else telling Sincere before she could, as Jewelz did. She finally accepted it only made things worse.

“Sky, you were with me by then. How could you sleep with another man for money when all you had to do was ask me? You know I would’ve given it to you off top; no if and ands about it. Why didn’t you come to me?”

More tears fell as Sky realized her past indiscretions hurt Sincere in ways she’d never considered. “I’m sorry, babe. I really am. I thought I’d take care of it without involving you. It was my mess. I thought I could clean it up.”

“No! You thought you could fuck your way out. That’s what you thought!” Sincere roared, no longer holding back as he paced the floor, huffing and puffing. He wanted the truth but never considered Sky’s betrayal went beyond Jewelz, the man she fled to New York with.

Sincere realized at that moment that Sky was a serial liar, whether on the road to truth or not. In a way, he appreciated the truth from the woman he fell head-over-hills in love with, but resented Sky’s reality hurt him in ways he didn’t know how to fix. Upon meeting Sky, there was a gut feeling she may have hidden details of her life. But Sincere never imagined he, too, would become a part of her cockups.

Sky quietly sat as Sincere paced the bedroom floor. His uneasiness bothered her. “So, you mad at me now! You asked, and I told you! That’s the number one reason I never wanted to tell you, Sin. I knew you would judge me just like everyone else.” She raised and stood.

Sincere walked closer to the bed and gawked at Sky. “I could’ve helped you if you trusted and respected me as your man, but you didn’t. You’re so used to being used and abused. You didn’t recognize when you had a real one. I would’ve helped you, Sky. Simple as that, just as I have since day one. No woman of mine would have ever had to go to another man for anything.”

“Sin, I was so scared of losing you. I didn’t know what to do. I convinced myself you’d leave if you knew everything I’d done.”

“Fuck!” Sincere’s lips tightened as creases emerged on his forehead. His anger and feelings when Jewelz outed Sky in the subway returned. He didn’t know what to do. Sincere believed that if he knew everything, he’d finally forgive her, and they could move on. Still, once again, the gene of betrayal was consistent, becoming the only emotion Sincere trusted.

There was no doubt in his mind and heart that Sky had indeed crossed the line, and he wasn’t sure if he could forgive her without resenting himself. Sincere wanted to, he did, but pride and a bleeding heart wouldn’t let him.
